About
Our story: from personal experience to a collective vision
Musica en Allegro was born from a personal journey of struggle, art and transformation. Enrique Castillo, violinist and Venezuelan migrant, is the founder of this project. His story is also that of many young artists who dream of a place where art holds meaning and a sense of belonging. After studying and graduating in Paris and integrating into the French educational system as a teacher, he experienced firsthand how difficult it is, even for the most talented, to find a space in the professional world of classical music. Excellence is not enough: there is a lack of support, visibility and real opportunities.
After emigrating to Switzerland, where he continued his studies and graduated with honours, he decided to transform that experience into concrete action. Thus, Musica en Allegro was born, an association dedicated to creating bridges between artistic excellence and social justice, connecting budding musicians with traditionally underrepresented audiences.
Today, Musica en Allegro has a dedicated committee, comprising Luis Lima, Veronica Rato, and Lilo Jaussi, who firmly believe in this project.
As artistic director of the association, Enrique Castillo has launched the UNISSON program, a series of collaborative concerts featuring high-level musicians with a humanitarian and transformative vision.
The problem: classical music for a few, opportunities for even fewer
Classical music, as it is presented today, is marked by social and bureaucratic barriers with a profoundly elitist character. Its stages are usually reserved for those who already have access, resources, or recognition. At the same time, a large part of society is excluded from the transformative experience that classical music offers, not due to a lack of interest, but because of cultural, social, or precarious conditions in the case of the most vulnerable groups.
Meanwhile, hundreds of highly trained young musicians, many of whom are migrants, budding artists, or from vulnerable backgrounds, face a landscape devoid of opportunities. Without dignified employment, without visibility, without an artistic future.
The solution: art with purpose, music in equality
Musica en Allegro proposes a concrete, realistic and profoundly human solution: to create a chain of opportunities where classical art serves as a tool for social inclusion, artistic employment, and cultural transformation.
